Ⅰ. Classification of barbed wire surface treatment
In order to extend the service life of the barbed wire fence, it needs to be surface treated. There are mainly two treatment methods:
1. Galvanized treatment: As the name suggests, the surface treatment is galvanized, which can be divided into electro-galvanized and hot-dip galvanized;
2. PVC treatment: The surface is PVC-coated, and the steel wire inside is black annealed wire, Electro Galvanized Wire, as well as HDP GI wire.

Ⅱ.Three twisting methods of barbed wire
Barbed wire is a kind of isolation protection net made by winding barbed wire around the main wire (strand) through a barbed wire machine and undergoing a variety of weaving processes. It is divided into three types: forward twist, reverse twist, and forward and reverse twist.

Ⅲ.What types of barbed wire fences are there?
Barbed wire fences can be classified into many types, depending on their design and purpose. Here are some common types:
1. Traditional barbed wire
This is the most basic type, usually made of two or more strands of wire wrapped around each other with sharp spikes or barbs fixed at intervals. In addition, it is widely used in agricultural fencing, prison fencing, military bases, and border protection.
2. Razor wire fence

4. Concertina razor wire fence
It is a form of razor barbed wire fence, concertina razor wire fence is a kind of retractable fence system, besides, its razor barbed wire part can be retracted and deformed like a snake’s belly to adapt to different terrain and installation needs.
It is commonly used in temporary isolation zones, border patrol paths, river and reservoir isolation, and other occasions not only because it’s flexible but also its highly protective.

5. Hot-dip galvanized barbed wire fence
HDP treatment is an anti-corrosion technology that can improve the corrosion resistance and service life of barbed wire fences.
Hot-dip galvanized barbed wire fencing is suitable for outdoor environments and needs to be used for a long time, such as roads, railroads, and bridges on both sides of the protective fence.

IV. How much does a barbed wire fence cost per meter?
1. Different materials correspond to different wire mesh fence prices
As mentioned above, the surface treatment of barbed wire fences is divided into two categories: galvanized and plastic coated. Due to the GI wire fences have good corrosion resistance and perform well in humid environments. Therefore the price is relatively cheap, generally between 10~13 USD/m.
In addition to the characteristics of galvanized fences, plastic coated barbed wire fences also have glossy colors, rich colors, and are resistant to sunlight and rust. Therefore the price is relatively high, 16~28 USD/m.
