Production Process
- Hot rolled steel rod/round bar – Steel billets are heated and then rolled into a circular cross-section at high temperatures, then naturally cooled. Commonly known as “black-skinned round steel,” the black color comes from oxide scale.
- Cold drawn steel bar – Round steel is not called “cold rolled steel rod” or “cold rolled steel”; that’s a term used for steel plates and strips. Bars are called “cold drawn,” which involves further drawing at room temperature based on hot-rolled round steel. This results in a smoother and more precise surface.

What is the Difference Between Plain bars and Deformed Bars?
They differ in appearance, application, and material. It lacks the protrusions of threaded steel bars, resulting in weaker adhesion to concrete.
It’s not primarily used in building casting but is also used in hardware, shafts, and welding.
