What is GI Binding Wire?

GI Binding Wire (Galvanized Iron Binding Wire) is a low-carbon steel wire with a galvanized surface. A zinc protective layer is formed on the surface of the steel wire through hot-dip galvanizing or electro-galvanizing process to prevent rust. Its main functions are bundling, fixing and supporting, and it is commonly used in construction, agriculture and industry.

• Rust-proof performance: Hot-dip galvanizing provides long-lasting excellent corrosion protection, suitable for humid, rainy or coastal environments. 3-5 times longer life than ordinary black iron wire.
• High strength & flexibility: High tensile strength, strong binding and not easy to break. Good ductility, can be bent manually or mechanically.

• 16#: 1.6 mm diameter, suitable for heavy steel bar bundling and building structure fixing.

Production process

• Raw material preparation: Select high-quality Q195/Q235 low-carbon steel wire rod and other materials, and cold draw to the target diameter.
• Pickling and rust removal: Soak the iron wire in hydrochloric acid to remove the surface oxide scale to ensure the adhesion of the galvanizing.
• Hot-dip galvanizing: The steel wire is immersed in 450°C molten zinc liquid to form a uniform zinc layer (the weight of the zinc layer is adjustable). Electrogalvanizing can also be implemented.
• Post-treatment: Chromate or environmentally friendly chromium-free passivation to enhance corrosion resistance.
• Cooling and drying: Prevent oxidation of the zinc layer.
• Winding and packaging: Automatic winding into coils (10kg/coil, 25kg/coil, 50kg/coil), PE film moisture-proof packaging.

Packaging

• Spool packaging: Thinner wires are wound around plastic or paper reels to form a compact roll structure. It is convenient to cut, save space, and prevent scattering.
• Bundling packaging: After cutting a certain weight of galvanized wire, use a bandage or plastic film to bundle it to form a fixed coil. Suitable for wires of various diameters.
• Box packaging: Optional, put the wound or bundled galvanized wire into a carton, wooden box or plastic box for overall packaging. Prevent extrusion, collision or moisture.
