What Is Electro Galvanized Steel Wire?
Electro galvanized wire, also called cold galvanized wire, is a kind of galvanized wire by using electro galvanizing process. Electro galvanization is a process to apply a layer of zinc to steel wire by electroplating. The zinc layer is thinner than that of hot-dipped GI wires. It has features like strong flexibility, great plasticity, good corrosion resistance, etc. The making process is shown below:

Will Electro Galvanized Wire Rust?
Certainly. Both hot-dipped and cold galvanized wires will rust. But the latter one will rust quicker than the former one. It is because of the difference in zinc coating thickness. Rusting is not only due to the active chemical property of iron but also has a lot to do with external conditions−water and oxygen. Moisture is one of the substances that make iron easy to rust. However, water alone does not make iron rust. Only when oxygen in the air is dissolved in the water, the oxygen reacts with iron in an environment with water, and a thing called iron oxide is formed. It is called rust. The rust of electro galvanized wire is a brownish-red substance, not as hard as iron, and easy to fall off. However, if the rust is not removed in time, it will be particularly easy to absorb water and accelerate the decay.
