Characteristics of Different Aluminum Alloy Series

1060, 1070

Highest purity, exceeding 99%, with the best corrosion resistance of all series. The electrical and thermal conductivity approaches that of pure aluminum. Soft and easily stretchable.

3003, 3A21

Excellent rust resistance. Moderate strength, excellent formability, and suitability for expansion processes make them the most commonly used and versatile series.

5052, 5083

Known as “rust-proof aluminum.” Particularly resistant to seawater corrosion, their cost is higher than the 3 series due to the price of magnesium. They also offer higher hardness.

1xxx series aluminum is the cheapest. 3xxx series aluminum offers high performance and a moderate price. 5xxx series aluminum is significantly more expensive than 3xxx series aluminum due to the addition of magnesium. 1. Aperture and Hole Pattern

Choose based on the intended use. For example, choose a large aperture (10-20mm) for ventilation and a small aperture (1-5mm) for filtration. Diamond-shaped holes are preferred, while square or round holes can be used for special applications.

2. Sheet Thickness

For load-bearing applications (such as platform steps), choose thicker sheets. For decorative applications, choose thinner sheets to reduce weight.

Production Process

Simply put, the process can be summarized as “scribing first, then stretching,” and is a one-piece manufacturing process.

Die-cutting/Cutting

A die is used to make regular, alternating cuts on the aluminum sheet without severing the material.

Stretching/Expanding

Mechanical equipment simultaneously stretches the cut aluminum sheet at both ends. Under tension, the cuts in the sheet are stretched, forming a uniform diamond or hexagonal mesh.

Forming and Winding

The stretched aluminum mesh is flattened to the desired size and flatness, and finally cut to length or coiled according to customer requirements.
